Dr Benjamin Adeyemi is a pain specialist and the clinical lead at PainCare 360, a private specialist pain management practice established in response to the compelling and urgent need to improve access to specialist pain management services for residents of the Wide Bay. Having lived in the Wide Bay for more than seven years, Dr Adeyemi is aware of the significant burden of chronic pain and the existing gaps in access to the required care within our region. He is committed to relieving pain and restoring hope by providing comprehensive and innovative multidisciplinary pain management for our regional residents.

Dr Adeyemi completed his pain medicine fellowship at the Townsville University Hospital where he was subsequently appointed as a staff specialist in pain medicine. His current public appointment is with the Sunshine Coast Persistent Pain Management Service. Dr Adeyemi works collaboratively with the patients’ primary care providers, attending non-GP specialists and allied health professionals to reduce pain-related distress and facilitate functional recovery with rational use of evidence-based interventional and non-interventional pain management strategies to support active self-management.

Dr Adeyemi’s areas of special interests include:

  • Interventional pain management using minimally invasive techniques (e.g., radiofrequency neurotomies -RFN, peripheral nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections, neuromodulation etc.).
  • Headache and orofacial pain
  • Spinal (neck, thoracic and low back) and musculoskeletal pain
  • Chronic post-surgical or post-traumatic pain
  • Cancer-related pain
  • Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
